James has over 15 years experience in web development and design (yes, he was there at the beginning). Trained as an instructional designer with graduate degrees from New York University, Yale and Harvard, his research focuses on social affordances of the Web.
James believes a balanced blend of research and practice lead to great design experiences. He founded FarmHouse Studios in 2005 to produce smart, accessible web experiences that consider the user first. His specific expertise centers around online communities and learning.
