Case Studies

The primary goal for this project was to leverage current web-based technologies to highlight the multi-dimensional aspects of Community Servings' work. This includes its wide range of program initiatives, the thousands of monthly volunteers and it leadership in nutrition for the critically ill.

Equally important was the ability for Community Servings staff to have the ability to update all aspects of the site at any time.

Working within Community Servings' current web site design, we restructured the content well to leverage different data sets via a database system designed and developed by FarmHouse Studios.

Employing a dashboard model on area landing pages, Community Servings now is able to highlight its wide range of supporters, volunteers and events in a more complete manner.

Rotating data records within dashboard "widgets" provide a visitors to Community Servings' web site with a fuller picture of their organization, as well as providing an opportunity for Community Servings to thanks its many supporters.

Business-based entries link to the business' own web site as well as provides contact information.

Due to the complex and unique requirements of non-profit fundraising and community outreach, we developed a fully customized Content Management System from the ground up opposed to out-of-the-box solutions. This proved to be more cost and time effective while giving Community Servings' the flexibility it needed.

LIke most non-profits, a large portion of Community Servings' fundraising involves events. FarmHouse Studios developed an event micro-site tool allowing Community Servings staff to create a individual web sites for each event within the structure of the main site.

Each of these "micro-sites supports an endless number of fully editable pages and a complete e-commerce solution customized for each event type.

With the click of a button, Community Servings staff can create, arrange and publish any number of customized pages to support the fundraising or informational needs of an event, special topic or new initiative. Each micro-site is self-contained and can be upublished / archived at anytime.

Page types include: donor pages, e-card notifications, guest books, photo galleries and many pages unique to Community Servings' signature events.

Using a shopping cart tool designed and developed by FarmHouse Studios - customized, event-based shopping carts can be created on the fly by Community Servings staff.

FarmHouse Studios' shopping cart templates are simple and easy to use by the most novice user.

Sustaining a sense of community is crucial to most non-profits. Using the latest viral marketing and "Web 2.0" strategies, we developed as centralized member account system for Community Servings thousands of volunteers and event attendees. Members can track their annual participation, log-in for online fundraising tools as well as create personalized fundraising pages for events. A collaborative intranet for Board members is also incorporated into the member area.
