The New England Rugby Referee Society (NERRS) approached FarmHouse Studios in 2006 to help them with their vast scheduling needs - at the time managed via email and snail mail.

Working with NERRS administrators, we researched the organization's seasonal work flow to develop an effective online tool to support NERRS' needs.

An online scheduling system displays all registered rugby matches, once approved by NERRS staff, in a clear and accesible manner. NERRS staff have the ability to assign referees to any match as well as post match scores, reports, last minute changes to location, kick-off time or assigned referee.

Match reports are entered by referees after each match and displayed for public viewing. Via their own personal space within the web environment, referees can also post disciplinary reports, mileage and reimbursement reports and their availability for upcoming matches.

All registered rugby clubs (approximately 300) are able to view a page dedicated to their club's schedule, results, contacts and news alerts.

NERRS administrators are able to manage club and referees finances online via a customized e-commerce tool. Seasonal invoices, penalities, reimbursements and more are all logged into a transaction register managed by NERRS and accessible by registered clubs and referees.

Communication between NERRS and registered clubs and referees is critical. We implemented a number of web-based tools, including a bulk email tool allowing NERRS administrators to communicate with any subset of it's membership with ease. All communication via the web environment is archived for future reference.
